LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Wednesday was day two of the Home for the Holidays build and the weather was a lot more cooperative.
At the start of construction one sponsor that has some experience building houses volunteered to do the most important work - framing the home.
David James Homes employees have worked alongside habitat volunteers to make sure the framing is perfect.
"The framing of the house is the skeleton. It has to be right in order for everything else in the house to line up like the walls to be square," explained Donna Vincent, Executive Director of the Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity.
"We've got experienced workers that know how to frame it and get the walls up and we can really contribute by doing that," said Merle Heckman, President of David James Homes.
Homeowner Kennesha Hopkins has made sure to document each step of construction for a scrapbook for her family.
Thursday, Plygem will install windows and siding.
