Ornaments honoring pets, helping humane society

DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - The Danville Area Humane Society is giving you a chance to honor your past pets while helping others at the same time.

Glass heart ornaments are being sold and will be hung on the humane society's Christmas tree.

When you purchase an ornament, a tag will be placed on it with the name of your pet.

The ornaments are $10 and all of the money will be used to help the humane society take care of its animals.

"The $10 for each ornament actually pays for vaccinations for two shelter animals. It can feed one animal for several days," said DAHS Executive Director Paulette Dean. "We try to do a lot of good work with the money."

Ornaments can be purchased at the humane society, on its website, or at the Danville Community Market on Saturday.
