Rain expected to leave the region by about noon

By Jeff Williamson - Digital Content Manager

Good Tuesday Morning! We are starting out with a mix of snow rain and ice for the morning drive with most of the snow west of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Most spots east of the parkway are just seeing rain, however, there are some icy spots, especially in higher elevations, bridges & overpasses.

Temperatures are right around freezing for the morning commute. This afternoon we are turning very windy with light snow showers still going on, mainly along the western facing slopes. There will be a few light snow showers that spill across the Blue Ridge but most of the light snow stays in our western counties. Temperatures are holding in the 30s across the NRV and Highlands. Roanoke, Lynchburg and Southside will top our in the 40s this afternoon.
