Round Town: parades, music and festivals

(WSLS 10) - Head to downtown Roanoke on Saturday for the Saint Patrick's Day Parade and Shamrock Festival. The parade kicks off at 11 a.m. If you can't make it, you can watch it live on WSLS 10. The festival kicks off at noon where you will find food, drinks, entertainment and a kid's zone.

Wytheville Community College holds its Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Jamboree Saturday night. TrueGrass and the Whitetop Mountain Band will perform. The music runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. It's free and open to everyone.

The Cabin Fever Series continues at the Vinton War Memorial Friday Night. Too Much Sylvia will perform. Tickets start at $10. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the entertainment beginning at 6:30 p.m.

The Salem Civic Center is home to the Shamrock Volleyball Festival this weekend. The event is one of the largest nationally-sanctioned USAV tournaments. The tournament features teams in the 14, 16 and 18 and under age divisions. Matches are Saturday and Sunday. A one day pass is $8 with a two day pass costing $15.

The Jefferson Choral Society holds its annual indoor yard sale on Saturday. You'll find everything from furniture and household items to holiday decorations. Proceeds benefit the society. It's Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Moose Lodge 715 in Lynchburg.

The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra performs on Saturday at the Berglund Center. The Symphonic Travelogue takes you from swirling rapids of the Moldau River to the American Wild West and to Franklin County. Tickets start at $29. The performance begins at 7:30 p.m.
