MAX MEADOWS (WSLS 10) Wytheville Police say a gas station in Wythe County has sustained heavy damage after a tractor-trailer incident.

It happened on Thursday at about 2:50 a.m., at the Circle K station on 152 Major Grahams Road.

The tractor-trailer driver forgot to apply his parking brake at the pump this morning, according to police. He then walked away and the truck moved forward, dragging the gas pump a few feet and sparking a flame.

Crews extinguished the fire and say no one was hurt. Heavy damage was done to the structure however, according to the store manager. He says half of the gas canopy is destroyed as well as the gas pump and the truck.
