Pittsylvania County homicide suspect brought back to the county

Suspect had been in jail in South Carolina since April 6

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – The Pittsylvania County teen accused of killing an 18-year-old earlier this month is back in our area.

Pittsylvania County Commonwealth's Attorney Brian Haskins confirmed Monday that the 17-year-old suspect is back in the county, but he would not confirm if he is in jail.

The suspect, who both the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office and the Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office refuse to identify, was arrested April 6 in Colleton County, South Carolina.

Online records showed Monday that he was released from the detention center there April 19.

Haskins also confirmed Monday that he has decided if the suspect will be charged as a juvenile or an adult, but he refused to say which.
