ROANOKE (WSLS 10) -- As you make plans for lunch and dinner this week, you may want to check out some spots on Williamson Road-- with Restaurant Week running from March 6 through 12.
More than twenty restaurants will be offering discounts and special menus throughout the week. It's a chance to check out a new dish at your favorite restaurant, or go visit a restaurant you've never tried before.
"Customers like to come out and see what they can get" says Robin Howery, the manager of Hollywood's Restaurant. "They like to see what we have special going on."
Typically Williamson Road Restaurant Week is offered twice a year, but this year it will only happen once. It's all in an effort to bring people out to explore the restaurants and other nearby businesses, during a time many people would rather stay at home and out of the cold.
"After they've been kind of hibernating, it gives them an opportunity or reason to come out," says Wendy Jones, the President of the Williamson Road Area Business Association. "They rediscover what we have out here, rediscover the restaurants and rediscover the melting pot we have on Williamson Road."
