Harry Rose is about to save money with one phone call. He tells his phone which city to search, which store. And voila! A discount coupon instantly comes to his phone.

“I wouldn’t have been someone to use coupons so they kind of look at me and say, ‘why are you using coupons?’ and I say, ‘why not, I have the service.’”

It’s called coupster. Just dial an 800 number and coupons are sent in a text message.

“They show that text message to the vendor on the spot and the vendor will honor that coupon the same way they honor a traditional coupon,” says Coupster Cary Schiffres

The idea popped into Rick Perry’s head after he left a paper coupon at home. “People throw them away by accident or just leave them on the kitchen counter when it’s time to use it. no one leaves home without their phone,” said Schiffres

Harry’s phone is full of discounts.

“With the coupster they don’t have to worry about cutting into the coupons,"said store owner Iris Chevez. “They have it in their cell phone.”
