The National Restaurant Association says beef costs have gone up 19 percent and processed chicken up 3 and a half percent, which is leading to some chain restaurants making changes to their menus.
At Montanos restaurant and other local owned eateries those changes mat not be necessary just yet. Owners tell 10 On Your Side that with costs going up it is causing owners to get creative and look for bargains.
Marty Montano says, “Because you just have to shop you have to shop around you have to be persistent get on your suppliers and see what they have a little extra of… A lot of times if you are willing to make deals.“
He says the last thing customers want to hear is that they will have to pay more because the restaurant is paying more.
