Locally, statewide, and national drivers are seeing a bit of relief from high gas prices.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says gas prices dipped three cents over the weekend in the Roanoke region, five cents for the Commonwealth’s average, and five cents for the national average.

Roanoke’s average price for a gallon of regular unleaded now stands at $3.80.  That’s a dime lower than this time last month, but $1.10 more than this time last year.

Virginia’s average is at $3.87, also a dime less than this time last month, but $1.08 more than this time last year.

The national average broke below the $4.00 mark to $3.96.  Better than last month’s $4.07, but a far cry from the $2.90 average at this time last year.
