Wind energy is ready for America, but the reverse may not be true.

America now gets one percent of its power from the wind, but experts believe as much as 20 percent can come from air turbines.  That ultimately would save you money, and cut down on the use of fossil fuels.

But getting that power into the national electricity grid is another problem.

Transmission lines that would move the power to where it’s needed, are too small to handle the extra current, or non-existent.

Government solutions have been proposed, but none as yet have been adopted.

Engineers say proposed solar power stations face the same problem.
