Sometimes a gadget is just flat-out cool. And this is one.

With the Vuzix iWear AV920, big-screen viewing is available almost anywhere, even on an airplane.

Worn like regular glasses, the goggle-type headpiece is used to watch movies with portable media players, including the video iPod, gaming systems, portable DVD players, digital cameras and cell phones with video outputs.

Twin LCD displays show an array of colors with a resolution of 640 by 480 (920,000 pixels).

A lithium-ion battery powers the glasses for five hours of play and gives the user a virtual display equivalent to a 62-inch screen viewed from 9 feet away.

The device can be worn with prescription glasses, and the attached earphones are easily adjustable. Users can take off the earphones to use their own headsets. A mini USB charger is included.
