Historic Downtown Lewisburg continues its tradition of First Fridays After Five on Friday, April 4, 2008 from 5pm to 9pm.  Join us for an evening of live music, art, entertainment and refreshments!  This event is free to the public.  Everyone is welcome!

Cooper Gallery presents 3-D paintings by new artist Connie Desaulniers.  Connie’s nature inspired art tweaks the imagination of the viewer and literally comes off the canvas.  Meet Connie at the her show opening Friday evening from 5pm to 8pm. 122 East Washington Street, 645-6439.

Greenbrier Valley Quarterly magazine invites you to a celebration of ten regional artists, who have uniquely contributed to Greenbrier Valley’s arts community.  The magazine’s “Art Class of 2008” will be recognized for their craft and their creative accomplishments at Harmony Ridge Gallery from 5pm to 9pm.  Join the celebration!  This event is sponsored by Thomas White, Attorney at Law. 209 West Washington Street, 645-4333.

Woody’s Art Supplies invites the public, young and old, to participate in the creation of a 36 x 48 canvas painting, titled “Everybody’s Pollock”.  Everyone is invited to stop by and contribute their dribble, splash or spray of paint to the canvas.  Once completed, the painting will be donated to the Greenbrier Valley Theatre for their upcoming live auction.  113A East Washington Street, 647-4600.

Performing at Plant’s Etc. are “The Herding Cats”, featuring Trudy Laurenson on keyboard, Stephanie Mendelson on mandolin, Shoshanna Schwimmer on concertina, Mary Moore on boron, Nan Morgan on harp and Terri Manscheim on dulcimer. 102 S. Jefferson Street, 645-6910.

The Irish Pub presents live music by Jimmy Costa and Patrick O’Flaherty starting at 5pm.  Enjoy the music and company of local favorites at 109 E. Washington Street, 645-7386.

First Fridays After 5 takes place in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 9pm serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment.

Downtown Lewisburg is just 2 miles south of I-64 via exit 169.  The town center is located at Washington Street (I-60) and Jefferson Street (Rt. 219).
