Roanoke Parks and Recreation’s “eggstravaganza” is postponed until Sunday because of the predicted rain on Saturday. It starts at 2 p.m. at the Reserve Avenue soccer fields.

McDonald’s St. Pat’s Parade will start at 11:30
SunTrust Celtic Festival has been canceled.
This is one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the Mid-Atlantic region, and it grows larger every year! The parade features over 100 entries that range from clowns to dogs to Harleys to llamas.

March of Ales Charity Beer Tasting 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. The ides of March brings the first annual beer tasting to the New River Valley! The March of Ales event will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at The German Club Manor in Blacksburg. Proceeds from the event will benefit local women’s and children’s charities. Guests at the March of Ales beer tasting will have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and an exciting live auction with exclusive items such as overnight inn stays, country club and gym memberships, signed Virginia Tech sports memorabilia, and more. A pint glass and tokens for ale tasting will be provided with each admission. Hot and cold hors d’oeuvres and dancing will highlight the evening.
