LOS ANGELES (AP) - A person with the Screen Actors Guild says the union has reached separate deals that will allow 90 independent movie productions to be completed even if actors go on strike.
The disclosure came Tuesday as formal contract negotiations continued between SAG and Hollywood studios.
The person, who was not authorized to comment publicly about the deals and spoke on condition of anonymity, says representatives of the productions have signed guaranteed completion contracts with the guild, which clear the way for film companies to raise financing and start work.
Formal contract discussions between the guild and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which represents studios, began April 15.
