Breast cancer survivors and their supporters shouted from the top of Mill Mountain Wednesday, October 1st.
The group included a group of students from Crystal Spring Elementary School, supporting a faculty member who beat breast cancer.
Roanoke’s Susan G. Komen for the Cure put the event together.
Organizers say the incidence of breast cancer in Southwest Virginia is higher than the state and national average.
One of the group’s main goal is to make sure all women get their mammograms, to catch the disease early.
