A new home for troubled teenage girls, will be available for families in our area.
Finishing touches are being put on the new Eastern Appalachian Teen Challenge for Adolescent Girls in Fincastle.
When it is finished, ten girls will be able to live there full time for one year to get their lives on track and an education.
Lisa Cox and her husband Harley have been planning the facility for the last ten years.
She says, “When a family is in a crisis situation like these families are going to be with their daughters I know as a mother myself when parents pull up we want it to be beautiful we want it to look like a home we don’t want it to look like a facility, we want this to be a place where they feel safe.“
The couple hopes to be ready to open the home in about a month.
