Pediatricians’ group warns of pet hazards
Young children should not keep hedgehogs as pets—or hamsters, baby chicks, lizards and turtles—because of risks for disease, according to a new report.

NRV school offers flu vaccine clinic for students and staff
St. John Neuman Academy in Blacksburg will be offering in-school flu vaccinations to students and staff.
Vaccinations will be held on October 7 at 9:00 a.m. at 2470 Ramble Road in Blacksburg.
The goal of the SJNA flu vaccine clinic is to help raise flu vaccination rates in order to help prevent students and faculty from getting and spreading the flu, and ultimately, to help reduce the burden of the flu on the community.
