As I get older, vacation must-haves change

As I go through my vacation checklist, there are a lot of the normal items… sunscreen… beach towels… beach bag… frying pan… frying pan??
I am finding that the older I get, the more enjoyable I want to make that handful of days we get as vacation. For instance, one year Matt and I went to the beach and stayed in a room with a small kitchen (that used to be enough) but I remember scraping eggs off the bottom of a weak excuse for a frying pan - I’m not going to do that this year. As I realized I am actually planning to pack a frying pan for our trip, I am reminded of my mother-in-law who has a favorite frying pan that she likes to use. Over the years we have upgraded for comfort; we now have a beach umbrella. I have also ironed many of my clothes and placed them on hangers typically I fold everything and throw it in the suitcase.
Also, in the past I will only pack a couple of pairs of shoes and then just make due when I get there… not this time. I have one small suitcase designated for bathing suits and shoes, a clean set of work out clothes for running each day (you get the picture) and while I will feel more prepared when we get to our final destination this probably wasn’t the year to do it. Last year we took our Jeep Cherokee but this year we have a convertible that we will be driving and I’m not in charge of packing the car. I hope it all fits.
