The Pooch Parade for the Franklin County Humane Society was great fun on Saturday morning.. Matt and I couldn’t believe how excited Luckie was to be there… all we saw the whole walk was his fluffy tail because he wanted to run or trot the whole time… I joked with Matt that he gets that competitive streak from being around me for the last 10 years.
There were all kinds of dogs out for the event. The Newfoundland was a hit with the bib that reads. “Just Droolin Around” if you have ever met one of these dogs you know that at times they appear to be having a bit of an allergy attack with a runny nose and such…

The Franklin County Sheriff’s department was also at the event with two of their K-9 officers. The dogs are amazingly smart and well trained. This was a moment I snapped just before one of the demonstrations.

A pit bull that was found shot in the face in the Ferrum area was there with his new owner. You can see that he has healed nicely and enjoys having an owner who loves him.

Just before the walk I snapped this photo of Matt and Luckie… they are best friends and my best friend…
In addition to loving the walk… Luckie enjoyed all of the new smells at LakeWatch Plantation, where the event was held… not only was he a fan of the trail but the gravel parking lot at the beginning… all in all a fabulous weekend.. good weather… good times… this week is shaping up to be a busy one… but no complaints here.
