While I was on my “stay-cation” last week I took care of some errands that are typically challenging when I am working and one of those was Luckie’s vet appointment in Roanoke… he has been doing well and his Cushings disease seems to be under control but he needs a check up every few months and Dr. Quatmann wanted to examine him since he has been taking Chinese herbs in addition to his prescription medicine…
Well… Luckie has never liked riding in the car… he was born with only one ear and we think that may have something to do with the fact that he hates to be boxed in anywhere.. including the car… when I first got him from the SPCA I tried to keep him in a crate while I was at work… BIG MISTAKE.. he just does not like to feel closed in… but he loves riding on a golf cart and he likes to ride on a boat… so for the first time when I took him to his vet. appt. I drove the convertible as opposed to our Jeep… and he actually did GREAT!!
I couldn’t resist taking these cute pictures… he will not sit still in any other vehicle… so when I got to Roanoke Animal Hospital I gushed to Dr. Quatmann about how great Luckie had done on the drive in… She said, “So, what are you going to do when you bring him in for an appointment in January?“
We both paused for a second and contemplated riding with the top down and the heat blasting… we’ll see…
