I have talked about our beach vacation a little bit… Here is one picture I took as we were driving back to the hotel one afternoon… for those of you familiar with Myrtle Beach you also are familiar with the Pavilion that used to sit on the main strip… It “WAS’ basically a fairly substantial collection of vendors selling the traditional cotton candy and candy apples along with several amusement park rides including a roller coaster that Matt I would usually ride at least once while we were vacationing…

The people watching alone is entertainment… but there was something about stopping at that little ticket booth… waiting in line… and then letting the bottom of our feet sweat as we listened to the slow methodical clicking of the coaster climbing just before it took its first big dip…

We had heard it was gone but as you look at this picture… there is NO sign that it was ever even there… I guess that is the point… just flat… It would be nice if they made this area a nice park with a trail along the outer edge… perhaps that is in the plan… I don’t know…

We were also told they move a lot of the stuff from the “old” pavilion to “Broadway on the Beach “  Don’t get me wrong I like that attraction as much as the next person but as we looked at the ticket booths and rides that had been transplanted… to me they just looked out of place… that area has many unique and enjoyable attractions but it is much newer and almost seemed to clash with the traditional carnival attractions that have been placed among new restaurants… piano bars… an IMAX theater and such…

I am sure there are many people who love the new location… I honestly didn’t check it out too closely… I didn’t have the desire to… not like when it was over along the beach…
