I recently sent a friend and e-mail explaining that sometimes I have “tunnel-vision”  I get so focused on a task… that sometimes I get in the way of my own progress… it is something that I feel like I have gotten control of as I have gotten older but invariably it is one of my weaknesses that I think will always surface from time to time…

Just before I took vacation I was at a stop sign and took the time to look up… and that is when I took this picture… I was excited about a few days off from work… looking forward to my “stay-cation” with Matt and Luckie and just genuinely enjoying the world around me…

When I look at this picture I see a perfect blend of light and dark… clouds and sun… but the clouds aren’t so overbearing that they block out the rays…

When I run outside… I try to make sure I take time to look up… not just at the road ahead or my feet below…

I always feel a bit of relaxation and joy wash over me even if it is just for a moment… when I look up it reminds me of the much larger world that exists outside of my “tunnel-vision” and makes me thankful for the blessings in my life…
