A mother and her 6-year-old son are in big trouble with Botetourt County, after Sheriff’s deputies say the child got in a car, and crashed it into a bank.
Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle tells us the child got in the car in the early evening hours of Wednesday, July 16th, in the Willow Brook trailer park in Blue Ridge. Investigators say the child’s mother was asleep.
Officers say a 7-year-old neighbor saw the 6-year-old get in the car, and drive off. The 7-year-old told his mother, and she called 911.
The 6-year-old ended up crashing the car into a bank. There is no major damage to the bank or the car. The child was also not hurt.
Sheriff’s deputies charged the mother with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
