VDOT says the tractor trailer accident has been cleared.

VDOT says the left lane of I-81 Northbound is back open.  The right lane and shoulder are still closed.

12:05 p.m.

VDOT says all lanes of I-81 Northbound, near Buchanan are closed, due to the tractor-trailer accident this morning.

11:10 a.m.

VDOT says traffic on I-81 Northbound is backed up about 1.5 miles because of the accident this morning.

9:10 a.m. VDOT says the right lane of I-81 northbound and the shoulder are closed.

9:00 a.m. VDOT says both lanes are closed on I-81 northbound near exit 167 just north of Buchanan in Botetourt County because of an accident.

Both lanes are closed, with traffic getting by on the shoulder in the emergency lane. Use caution, and expect delays if you are travelling from the Roanoke area north towards Lexington.
