Read release from Obama-Biden Campaign:
“Indiana U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh will headline community gatherings tomorrow in Roanoke and Henrico County to talk to Virginians about how an Obama-Biden administration would turn around the economy and help families struggling in the economic downturn. Bayh’s events will be held at the same times and locations as the events previously scheduled with U.S. Sen. Joe Biden. Biden’s events were cancelled because of a serious illness in his family.

Bayh will talk to voters about how an Obama-Biden administration will fight to make college more affordable, cut taxes for middle class families – by three times the amount proposed by John McCain, according to a nonpartisan analysis – and lower health care costs by up to $2,500 for the typical family, while John McCain’s health insurance proposals would create a new tax on Virginians’ health care benefits.

Bayh was a two-term governor of Indiana, winning re-election in 1992 by the largest margin in state history. During his term, Bayh worked to deliver the largest tax cut and largest budget surplus in Indiana history. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1998, winning a whopping 64 percent of the vote – the largest victory margin ever.“
