The victim is out of the hospital. Police Chief Barry Balser tells us he saw the woman late Friday afternoon. Balser says she is badly bruised and still shaken up but is otherwise OK.
Balser was the first to arrive on the scene after the woman called 911 around 1:15p.m.. The chief says it took about 15 minutes to locate her because she was in a remote area and she wasn’t sure where she was.
Balser says the woman was driving into town on her lunch break. She needed to make a deposit at the bank. Balser tells us the robber took the bank deposit envelope. They say he took the money inside and ditched the envelope. Police found it and the envelope will be sent to the crime lab. Balser says they were also able to take fingerprints from the woman’s car door.
Police have shown the victims pictures of a few possible suspects but she said none were the man who attacked her. Balser says they hope to work with a sketch artist at Dabney Lancaster Community College, to develop a sketch of the suspect.
In the meantime, here is the complete description of the suspect:
White male
Mid to late 20s
Light hair
5’10”
180-220 lbs
Tattoo of star or tear next to left eye
Wearing dark jeans and gray hoodie
