The Carilion Clinic in Roanoke wants to set a world record, taking as many blood pressure tests as possible within 24 hours.
On Friday, workers had a practice day at Valley View Mall.
People lined up to help the clinic prepare.
Dr. Paul Frantz said 30% of people with hypertension don’t realize they have it.

“This is kind of a trial run. We kinda kicked it off today to see how much staff we need and how fast we can take blood pressures and get people instructions if they do need to see a physician,” he said.

Dr. Frantz said the current world record includes 2,100 blood pressure tests in 24 hours.
Carilion will try to set the world record next Friday at 3 p.m. at Valley View Mall.
