Washington, D.C. – Congressman Bob Goodlatte announced today that he has nominated the following students to a military academy for the class entering the fall of 2009.

Patrick DelBuono, son of Ernest and Mary DelBuono, is currently a senior at North Cross High School and a resident of Roanoke.  He has been nominated to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis.

Zeke Hunsberger, son of Mark and Cheryl Hunsberger, is currently a senior at Lord Botetourt High School and a resident of Roanoke.  He has been nominated to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Teddy Ivanco, son of Theodore and Maureen Ivanco, is currently a senior at Cave Spring High School and a resident of Roanoke.  He has been nominated to the United States Military Academy at West Point.

Colin Forbes, son of Jeffrey and Donna Forbes, is currently a senior at Hidden Valley High School and a resident of Roanoke.  He has been nominated to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis.

Katrina Litchford, daughter of James and Leonetta Litchford, is currently a student at Mary Baldwin College and a resident of Blue Ridge.  She has been nominated to the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.

Ashley Taylor, son of Lara Taylor-McGhee, is currently a senior at Rockbridge County High School and a resident of Buchanan.  He has been nominated to the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.

John Wheelock, son of Franklin and Lydia Wheelock, is currently a senior at Cave Spring High School and a resident of Roanoke.  He has been nominated to the United States Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.

“I am incredibly honored to nominate these fine young men and women to compete for appointment to the United States Service Academies.  Upon appointment, they will be attending outstanding schools and joining the world’s finest fighting force.  I am confident they will serve our country with distinction.  Folks in the Sixth District can be proud of these hard working young individuals,” said Goodlatte.
