Ferrum College plans to move forward with construction on a new campus dormitory.

The college says the three story building will house 120 students.  Two students will each share one room.  The school adds that the building will be energy efficient and meet ENERGY STAR certifications.

Mod-U-Kraf Homes in Rocky Mount will build most of the all brick building off-site.  College leaders hope the project will be finished before the fall semester begins.

Other Franklin County companies who will work on the project include Scott Manufacturing, Blackwater Millwork, and MW Manufacturers Inc.

Ferrum College has experienced record growth in enrollement during the past several year.
