The U.S. Forest Service originally estimated that the fire had burned 50 acres, but now says after closer examination, that number is now 16 acres.

Crews say the fire burning in the Jefferson National Forest in Craig County is about 85% contained.

They are warning neighbors in the Craig Creek valley areas that they will smell and see smoke.

The U.S. Forest Service says the fire is not threatening any private land.
