The 50th Highland Maple Festival will begin in tiny Monterey on Saturday.
The Highland County festival will be recuperating after a fire destroyed the sugar house of one of its largest maple syrup producers, Ivan Puffenbarger.
The Puffenbargers will still be open to sell doughnuts.
