Indictment in Maryland Avenue murder
An indictment accuses John Stanley of murdering Marvin Lawson.

A Roanoke grand jury returned a murder indictment against John Stanley on Monday.
Stanley is accused of killing Marvin Lawson inside his Maryland Avenue home on April 1st.
A search warrant on file in Roanoke City Circuit Court shows investigators believe Stanley used some sort of tool to beat Lawson to death.
No trial date has been set.
