Local law firms are competing but the competition won’t be taking place in a court room.
The legal food frenzy kicked off today in Salem with a luncheon.
It’s a state-wide competition to see which law firm can raise the most money for the southwest Virginia Second Harvest Food Bank.
Last year the competition brought in more than 650,000 pounds of food.
This year, they are hoping for more than a million.
“We can’t get enough food to feed our people we are having an increase in those coming to get food so this will help us,” Pamela Irvine, president and CEO of the food bank, said Thursday.
