Magic City Ford is now Magic City Ford-Lincoln-Mercury, after buying the Salem car dealership Friendly Lincoln-Mercury.
According to Magic City owner Bill Johnson, all of the 2008 cars on Friendly’s Salem lot have been moved to Magic City’s Roanoke lot on Williamson Road.
Johnson tells us he expressed interest in buying the Friendly’s franchise some time ago and owner Hayward Statum approached Johnson when Statum was ready to sell. Statum tells us downsizing by Ford Motor Company made it the right time to sell. Statum still owns the Salem property and plans to operate a quality used car dealership on the site.
Johnson says Friendly’s employees were offered Magic City job applications. So far, two have been hired.
Johnson says if you purchased a car from Friendly, your warranty will be honored at Magic City.
