Salem Police charge a man with sexually assaulting a young girl multiple times.
Officers say a 15-year-old girl filed a complaint with police back in June 2008, saying she had been the victim of several sexual assaults that happened during a six-month period between August 2004, and January 2005, when she was 11 years old.
Investigators charged 42-year-old Forrest Todd Darnell with 10 counts of aggravated sexual battery, and two counts of forcible sodomy.
Darnell is being held without bond in the Roanoke County/Salem Jail.
