The deadline to register to vote is Monday, October 6th. That’s keeping the Roanoke County Office of Elections busy. Workers stuffed envelopes with absentee ballots. Some men and women were also there to cast their absentee vote in-person. The registrar’s office says they’re seeing more applications this presidential election year than others.
“We have four new staff members helping out. We are working late. We’ll be working tomorrow trying to get all the applications on, the absentee ballots on, as well as voter registration,“ said Judy Stokes, the General Registrar.
The registrar says as long as your voter registration applications are postmarked by Monday, they should be accepted.
