Roanoke Co. Police chase ends with crash

As of late Thursday afternoon, police have had no luck finding the operator of that blue sport bike. In an update, police told us the entire chase was about eight minutes from beginning (on Bandy Road) to end (Garden City Boulevard). The officer is okay. Roanoke County police Lt. Williams told us the officer followed all procedures during the chase.

Roanoke County Police say the reckless driving suspect was clocked driving 52 MPH in a 35 MPH zone on Bandy Road, then at faster than 90 MPH on Graden City Boulevard.
Police describe the suspect as a white man on a blue sport bike, wearing a blue helmet, bright yellow shirt, and blue jeans.

A police chase ends in a crash just before lunchtime.
Roanoke County Police tell us an officer in an unmarked cruiser was chasing a suspected reckless driver on a motorcycle, when the officer crashed his cruiser near the intersection of Rose Avenue and Garden City Boulevard.
The crash destroyed a utility pole.
The suspected reckless driver escaped. The officer is not hurt.
