It’s the same Danville restaurant where former Governor and current Senate candidate Mark Warner has campaigned a couple of times before.

Short Sugar’s barbecue restaurant was given less than 90 minutes notice that presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama would have lunch there, according to the restaurant’s manager.
The Secret Service showed up at Short Sugar’s around 2 PM to sweep the restaurant for security purposes. Obama ordered lunch with former Governor and current Senate candidate Mark Warner around 3:30 PM. Warner had campaigned at the restaurant a couple of times before, according to several patrons having lunch. Obama ordered a North Carolina style chopped sandwich for himself and two pounds of ribs for his crew. Warner ordered a minced sandwich. Obama paid for everything, according to the restaurant manager. The visit was kept secret from the crowd, although some onlookers thought it might be a possibility since Warner and Obama were campaigning in nearby Martinsville. Obama signed several autographs, posed for pictures, and kissed a pair of babies before getting back on his bus in order to attend a town hall meeting at E.C. Glass High School in Lynchburg.BARACK OBAMA VISIT
