Roanoke City Police arrest BB&T bank robbery suspect

Investigators tell us Bobby Wayne Widener went to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital early Thursday evening, and was identified by Carilion Police officers.

Roanoke City Police say a bank robbery suspect has been arrested, after he went to the hospital for medical help.
Investigators tell us Bobby Wayne Widener went to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital early this evening (Thursday).
Carilion Police identified Widener as the suspect wanted in connection with the BB&T bank robbery on Hershberger Road from April 28th.
Carilion Police called Roanoke City Police at 5:59 p.m. Doctors checked out Widener, and Roanoke City Police arrested Widener when he got released from the hospital.
Officers charged Widener with Robbery.
Investigators do not know why Widener had to go to the hospital. Officers say no one was hurt in the bank robbery.
Roanoke City Police released the surveillance pictures from the bank robbery below back on April 28th. Investigators say they show Widener at the bank.
