Roanoke City firefighters rescue a person trapped by flames.
Firefighters tell us the flames sparked in a dryer on 10th Street around 6:22 p.m. When firefighters got there, they found a person hanging out of the 2nd floor window, trapped by the fire on the back porch where the dryer was.
Firefighters put a ladder up, rescued the person and a dog, then put out the flames.
Investigators ruled the cause of the fire as accidental. The flames caused $3,000 in damage.
