The Roanoke River Greenway will be open along Wiley Drive through Smith Park for the duration of the Music for Americans event. Vehicles must turn right toward Franklin Road and exit in that direction once reaching River’s Edge. The greenway segment along Wiley Drive at River’s Edge will be open until 9 p.m. for foot/bicycle traffic, and will be closed to everyone until the completion of the fireworks display (approximately 10:30 p.m.).
Wiley Drive at River’s Edge will be closed the entire day July 4, beginning at 7 a.m. Reserve Avenue will not allow parking anytime on Friday, and will be closed to all but emergency traffic beginning at
1 p.m. Friday until after the fireworks display has finished. No public parking will be available at any time Friday at the Parks and Recreation headquarters, nor at the Carilion Riverwalk office complex on Jefferson Street.
All Music For Americans patrons are strongly encouraged to take the shuttle buses from either the Elmwood Parking Garage on Jefferson Street, or from the Virginia Western Community College parking lot.
