Skeleton found in local woods

A teenager finds a skeleton in the Madison Heights area of Amherst County this weekend, according to the Sheriff’s Office.  Deputies say the discovery was made near Coleman Road shortly before noon Saturday.  The remains had shoes and were partially covered in clothing.  Deputies also found a shot gun and shell casing next to the remains, which have been taken to the Roanoke Medical Examiner’s Office.  An identification has not yet been made, and there are no missing person reports in Amherst County at this time.
