Police release the name of the woman who they say broke into a local church and refused to surrender.
Roanoke police say 36-year-old Mary Christine Bolling broke into Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Roanoke yesterday.
After church members saw signs of a breaking they called police.
When police arrived Bolling came to the front door with knives in her hands and refused to come out peacefully.
Eventually a tactical team went inside the church and was able to arrest Bolling.
She was taken to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
Tonight, police say she was released from the hospital around 6:30 p.m. and taken to Roanoke Jail.
Bolling has been charged with two counts of assault of an officer, stemming from the struggle with police during her arrest.
She’s also been charged with burglary.
Police say her last known address was in Las Vegas.
