Federal court records outline how local police took an estimated $500,000 in cocaine, marijuana, and drug money off the streets.

The Roanoke area DEA Task Force arrested Jerome Brown and Dennis Hurdle late last week for dealing drugs.

A complaint filed in U.S. District Court last Friday identifies Brown as a “significant drug trafficker in the area.“

The complaint reveals the task force conducted a five month long investigation.
It used everything from a confidential informant to aerial surveillance to catch Brown with the drugs.

The federal complaint states police found 30 lbs. of marijuana, around 2,000 grams of cocaine, and “hundreds of thousands of dollars” in cash investigators believe belonged to Brown.

The complaint states officers caught Hurdle with two kilograms of cocaine and around $15,000 cash.

Search warrants on file at Roanoke City Circuit Court also reveal police checked a storage bin belonging to Hurdle for more drugs.

No federal court date for the pair has been set.
