Roanoke County investigators say the truck was hauling explosives used at quarries and in construction, as well as acetic acid.  When the truck flipped, it spilled about 15 gallons of the acid.

Investigators say the truck’s driver, Boyd Miles, told officers that he ran off the road to avoid a construction vehicle.  Miles tells police that one of the construction workers pulled into his lane, and Miles was forced to move over to avoid hitting him.  That’s when Miles’ truck tipped over, and the acid and explosives fell out of the back of the truck.

We’re still waiting to hear about whether charges will be placed.
