Update: Crash on Rt. 24 sends three to the hospital

Updated Wednesday, 10:56p.m.:

State Police tell us Carilion Life Guard 10 was called to fly 21-year-old Nicholas Poe to Roanoke Memorial.  Poe was one of the passengers in the car.

State Police say the 16-year-old girl driving the Chevy Cobalt ran off the left side, then the right side before flipping the car.  She was heading West toward Vinton.

She was was taken by ambulance to RMH with her other passenger, 21-year-old Daniel Moss, by her side.

The girl is charged with reckless driving.  The trooper says speed was a factor.

All three were wearing seatbelts and are expected to recover.

The girl is from Woodlawn in Carroll County.  Both men live in Bedford County.

A crash on Rt. 24 in Bedford Co. sends three people to hospital.

Investigators say three people were driving in a Chevy Cobalt when it crashed and flipped over.

One man was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial.  One woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

A second man refused treatment at the scene, but rode in the ambulance with the woman and planned on also getting checked out at the hospital.

VDOT says the road is now open in both directions.
