VT Warns Students and Faculty About Possible Scam

Virginia Tech is warning students and faculty about a possible email scam.
The 4-Help Center is warning students not to respond to any emails asking for a PID or password.
Virginia Tech says the scam comes from someone claiming to be part of the school’s administration.
Here are some more tips to protect yourself from scammers: change your password, occasionally, don’t use your PID for other online accounts, and consider using an email alias instead of your actual PID for your email address.
One last thing, if you get one of the emails… don’t respond even to say ‘no thanks.‘
Virginia Tech says if you do, the scammer can hack into your account.
