Falwell family honored at state Capitol
The Virginia Senate and House of Delegates honored the Falwell family today with a resolution commending the life and service of Jerry Falwell, who died in May after 51 years as pastor of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

Lynchburg Police say man who caused deadly crash was drunk
A toxicology test shows a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit in the driver who police say lost control of his car on Fort Avenue in December, killing an Evington couple and himself in the crash.

Illegal immigrant sentenced for sexual battery against 8-year-olds in Bedford County
Santos Wenceslao Guzman, 42, of El Salvador, entered an Alford plea to one count of aggravated sexual battery against an 8-year-old girl. Investigators say Guzman inappropriately touched two girls at the Goodwill store in Forest.

Budget, census top Lynchburg School Board agenda Tuesday night
