Woman gets seven years in prison in Campbell Co. deputy death case

Heather Lyn Bush, 27, had initially been charged with felony second-degree murder, but the charge was reduced to involuntary manslaughter as part of a plea agreement. Bush also pleaded guilty Friday to felony eluding police.

A plea agreement has been reached in the case of a Huddleston woman charged with murder in the death of a Campbell County deputy who crashed his car while pursuing her, according to the Bedford County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office

A first-year student from Barhamsville, which is near Williamsburg, Jenna died last Thursday from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Russell Tyree covers a fresh load of mulch in the bed of his trailer. He plans to put it down around his house. “It’s just really for the appearance, the aesthetics,” he said.  But the mulch can also be a fire hazard.  Flames tore through six apartments in a Lynchburg apartment building on Saturday.  Deputy Fire Marshal David Jackson says the cause was likely a cigarette butt thrown in mulch.
